Achtung - Schwachstelle in Clam AntiVirus!
Buerger-Cert beschreibt die Schwachstelle folgendermaßen:
"Eine Schwachstelle in clamav-milter zur Verwendung von ClamAV mit dem MTA sendmail ermöglicht einem entfernten Angreifer, beliebigen Programmcode mit root-Rechten auf dem Opfersystem auszuführen. Die Schwachstelle kann von einem Angreifer durch Senden einer speziell formulierten E-Mail ausgenutzt werden. Betroffen sind alle Systeme, die clamav-milter mit aktivierter 'black hole'-Funktion verwenden."

Nachtrag zur SuchMaschinen-Optimierung
Noch ein kleines Fundstück von internetworld.de von gestern Mittag. Dort wird getitelt "Der aktuelle Suchmaschinen-Preisindex des Performance-Marketing-Dienstleisters Explido registrierte für August in nahezu allen Bereichen steigende Preise." Bei diesen Preisen geht es um das Geld, das - von den Anbietern! - im Schnitt pro Suchwort und Klick bezahlt werden muss. Zitat internetworld.de "Bei Google kostete ein entsprechender Suchbegriff durchschnittlich 1,32 Euro" (im Bereich Partnersuche und Erotik - in anderen Bereichen sieht es ähnlich aus; die "kostenintensivsten" Preise liegen im Gebiet der Versicherungen mit durchschnittlich 4,22 Euro pro Begriff und Klick). Unnötig zu sagen, dass diese Art von "Suchmaschinenmarketing" schnell recht teuer werden kann.

Suchmaschinenoptimierung - nicht Made in USA
In einem Artikel der Internet World Business vom 20.8.2007 wird dp aus einer Studie des "Internet Retailer Magazine" zitiert, nach der satte 81% der 100 größten Online-Händler der USA "die Möglichkeiten von Suchmaschinenoptimierung und -Marketing nicht vollends" ausschöpfen.
Immerhin ein Fünftel hatte gute Ergebnisse, aber ganze "26% betrieben überhaupt keine Suchmaschinenoptimierung." Lisa Wehr, Chefin des Online-Marketing-Dienstleisters Oneupweb, meint, dadurch würde bares Geld verschenkt: "Keyword-Advertising", so die Marketing-Expertin, "ist nicht genug."

Noch ein Nachtrag zu unserer Warnung von Montag: Die soziale Masche von Online-Kriminellen reisst nicht ab. Ganz aktuell sind es Mails mit Betreffs wie "Login Information", "Member Details" und anderes mehr, mit denen man sich auf irgendwelche dubiosen Webseiten einloggen soll. Hoax info bericht dazu: "Die Links lauten wie gehabt "http://<IP-Adresse>/".

"Silver Surfer" holen auf und ein!
"Silver Surfer" oder auch "Best Agers" werden Internet-Nutzer jenseits der 55 Jahre genannt. Nun hat die von der EIAA (European Interactive Advertising Association) erhobene "Mediascope Europe"-Studie gezeigt, dass das Internet nicht mehr länger etwas überwiegend für die Jüngeren ist: Gerade die kaufkräftige Gruppe der Generation 55+ ist immer mehr und immer schneller online: ein Viertel surft regelmäßig im Internet und ist dabei durchschnittlich sieben Stunden pro Woche (Deutschland; Europa: 8,8 Std.) im Internet.
Bei der im September 2006 von der EIAA, einem paneuropäischen Branchenverband für Online-Vermarkter in Auftrag gegebenen Studie wurden europaweit über 7.000 Internetnutzer in acht europäischen Ländern befragt.

Domains als Geldquelle?!
Es gibt verschiedene Möglichkeiten, sich im Internet erfolgreich zu betätigen. Der Klassiker ist der Onlineshop, in dem - ohne große Kosten an Personal und/oder horrenden Raummieten in exklusiven Lagen - die Artikel vom Kunden bequem zu Hause angesehen und bestellt werden können. Malware: Worst 10 im Juli
Wie von pcwelt/sophos gemeldet wird, liegen die Top 10 der Malware im Juli fest: An Stelle 1 liegt weiterhin die Wurmfamilie Netsky, danach Zugehörige zu Mytob, Mydoom, Zafi (an 4. Stelle Mal/Iframe, den man oft zusammen mit Javascriptcode antrifft, den Sophos "Mal/ObfJS" nennt, "Obfuscated (verschleiertes) Javascript". Mal/Iframe versucht, einen versteckten Iframe auf einen Webserver einzuschleusen, über den dann der eigentliche Schadcode von einem anderem Server geladen wird."
Neu in die Hitliste eingestiegen sind auf Platz 7 bzw. 10 Troj/Agent und W32/Strati, die vorher noch nicht unter den Worst 10 waren.
Unter den "gefährlichsten" Ländern, das heißt denen, in denen am meisten mit Trojanischen Pferden verseuchte Webseiten gefunden wurden, sind China (fast 50%), dann die USA mit 21,8% und Russland mit 14,7%, während Deutschland hinter die Ukraine gerutscht ist.

Gesammeltes Schweigen statt mp3
Laut Heise-Meldung von gestern nachmittag ist zur Zeit ein Schädling unterwegs, der versucht, sämtliche mp3-Dateien vom Rechner zu löschen (ähnliches gab es wohl schon mal 2005 mit w32/napir-b). Namen des Wurms: W32/Deletemp3.worm (McAfee), W32/Deletemusic (Symantec), Virus.Win32.AutoRun.ah (Kaspersky), bzw. Win32/Autorun.AH (ESET).
Ist der Computer befallen, setzt sich der Virus in Windows-Autostarts fest - beim Neustart des Rechners geht es dann los.

Mythos "sex.com"
Kleines Fundstück von domain-recht.de am Rande:
Ein langer Streit um die Rechte an der Domain sex.com, vermutlich einer der wertvollsten und lukrativsten Domains der Welt, bildet den Stoff für einen authentischen Krimi: 1995, also noch in den Anfangsjahren des Internet und Domainhandels, merkte Gary Kremen, dass bei einer seiner Domains - er hatte sich auch auto.co und match.com registrieren lassen - auf einmal ein anderer Name als Inhaber eingetragen war. Wie er bald merken sollte, war das kein Versehen, sondern tatsächlich Domainklau mit allen Schikanen. Erst 2000 wurde die Domain auf ihn zurückübertragen; sein Widersache flüchtete über die Grenze nach Mexiko und konnte erst 2005 gefasst werden...
Dieser heißen Story widmete nun ein britischer Journalist, Kieren McCarthy, ein Buch mit dem reißerischen Titel: "Sex.com. One Domain, two Men, twelve Years and the brutal Battle for the Jewel in the Internet's Crown" (Quercus Pubishing, ISBN 1905204663, je nach Anbieter um EUR 19,45).
Das Buch scheint gut gekauft zu werden; auf diese Weise kann man mit Domains also anscheinend auch Geld verdienen...!!
