Aus gegebenem Anlass kommt hier ein kleiner Blog zum Thema Hoaxes: Ähnlich wie beim Phishing wird die Arglosigkeit der User ausgenutzt. Hoaxes sind "falsche" Warnungen: In einer E-Mail wird vor anderen E-Mails gewarnt, die angeblich virenverseucht seien; damit sie "keinen Schaden anrichten" können, solle man umgehend alle Freunde, Bekannte und Verwandte davor warnen - natürlich ebenfalls per E-Mail - und wenn man dieser Aufforderung folgt, ist DAS der eigentliche Schaden, Zeit und Ressourcen werden verschwendet.
Soviel zur Einleitung; zur Zeit warnt der hoax-info.de vor einem Hoax mit dem Betreff "Einladung" (und wer freut sich nicht, wenn er mal wieder eingeladen wird...). Diese Mail dürfe man auf keinen Fall öffnen, sie enthalte "das gefährlichste Virus, das je durch CNN angekündigt wurde", und es würde die ganze Festplatte zerstören.
